A Ferrari Service is multi-point
task involving close scrutiny of parts that are susceptible to wear and tear
due to age and/or use, testing of functions, replacement of service items &
reporting on areas for future attention. High performance vehicles require a committed,
alert technician who understands the vehicle in question and its serviceable
items. A familiar technician who has driven the vehicle or experienced a
similar model and fully understands the vehicle and it’s functions.

Ferrari Testarossa engine removal for service and cambelts is the standard factory procedure. The work can be carried out with the engine in, albeit with the rads removed but this does not make belt and tensioner fitment an easy process compared with dropping the engine out. The ferrari flat twelve is a masterpiece of engineering and design. The flat twelve singing in the upper rev range is one of the most beautiful sounds to a petrolhead pedestrian - Testarossa heaven!
Ferrari engines require a technician with considerable experience and familiarity to work with patience and due diligence to comprehensively deliver servicing of the highest standard.
Ferrari 355 repair, MOT & annual servicing with a fixed price menu service.
The Ferrari 355 is one of the most seductive shapes on four wheels and with current values hovering around the £40k mark, this winter is surely the time to buy for future investment. Moreover, the 355 is a wonder on the road. Driving perfection, with one of the most highly acclaimed soundtracks that a road engine has ever delivered (at any rev range), the 355 takes driving sensations to new heights.
The 355 has incredible road manners, visual presence and very few vices. The driving position is typical Italian, with a more sit-up and beg position with legs bent compared to the German style of, low with legs outstretched, gear lever close to the steering wheel… But this driving position is not extreme as previous Italian sports cars from the 1970’s & 1980’s and comfortable even for six footers.
The manual gear change requires a positive push - a confident wrist to push through the gates, the F1 change effortless, albeit requires the unfamiliar to get fully acquainted before maximum performance or rather mischief is achieved – both gear changes have their virtues. The higher the horsepower the more an engine lends itself to the semi automatic sequential boxes seen on the current breed of supercars.
Pulling away in the 355 is a treat as V8 perfection delivers unbelievable torque from such low revs and a howling banshee of a noise even at low speed. The steering is positive and light, the car solid underneath one, giving the driver immediate confidence - the mind whispers for one to ‘press-on’ to see what other delights the 355 can offer.

The 355 power is a hypnotic combination of urgent shove and ever increasing audible beauty as the revs rise. The further one prods the accelerator the more the hypnosis – only the reality of road, traffic and instantaneous danger brings the dazed driver back from a dream state…
Oh what a lot of gibberish? What car could possible induce a driver into a drug like state and for some motoring hack to write in such a way… Only a Ferrari like the 355. Try one, and find yourself raving to all that will listen – the 355 is a class act, even when stood still.
July 2011: The fine weather has brought some very fine cars out to play. Braunton Engineering are blessed with the return of the red lady - The Ferrari Testarossa returns for it's annual service and MOT.
"What a car, what a car! One of the only cars that has given me goose bumps and the desire to keep patting it like a good dog - I dont know, I must find a dark room to go and rest; to think about my Testarossa owning prospects" swoons Chris... "Ashley and I collected the Ferrari from the owner’s home south of Barnstaple. On the drive back, I led the way in the 928gt - Ashley following tentatively in the Testarossa. I had to pinch myself; the 928 was going well, the handling is sublime with the new wheels, tyres and ride height. Jazz courtesy of Brubeck, the sun shining upon a stunning backdrop, the rear view mirror filled with the spaceship Testarossa.
Passing through some testing curves we made our way back, I grinned all the way. It was one of those times when one has to stop and consider the moment, to fully appreciate. I spent some time road testing the Testarossa last year - time seemed to stand still, a glint in my eye - this was the moment to measure all my motoring moments by - what a sense of occasion a Ferrari delivers to the driver - Thank you Ferrari."
On the road the Testarossa is like nothing else. It looks wide, it feels wide to drive. Not the front end, but the rear haunches are immense, that a driver in the narrow Devon lanes has to be well aware of the extra width. The driving position is typical Italian supercar – one sits with legs bent, arms stretched. The gearchange is a long throw by comparison to modern day cars and requires some accuracy and strength and positive commitment to push the lever past the gate. The flat twelve of the Testarossa has immense torque but as the revs rise the urgent thrust increases accordingly, until the driver has to back off for want of much longer roads with clear, open corners. Driving an icon like the Testrarossa is a great responsibility, not least because of the value and the rarity, the red lady requires full commitment from the user to proceed at anything other than a reasonable pace. Like the older Porsche 911s, the Ferrari demands a high level of driving skill, and to put it bluntly, some bottle.
On acceleration the Testarossa squats and starts to chase the horizon, the nose lifts a tad. As the engine climbs to the higher rev range, the surge is so progressive (unlike the sudden thump of a 911 turbo engine) that the driver could be foxed into thinking the car is not so quick… Only looking at the scenery and checking the speedo, is the driver reminded that this Icon was made so due to its ferocious pace and its space craft looks. The Testarossa is a unique shape, an icon from a time where smart young professionals wore designer suit jackets (with rolled up the sleeves) over jeans and a pair of beige brogues. How time has moved on (for most of us) but still, the Testarossa captures the heart and even when parked up and all is silent, has a formidable presence.
