Restoration at Braunton Engineering
Porsche Restoration
Braunton Engineering restore and re-commission Porsches to original or modified/updated specification. Porsche restoration and in particular, part-restoration, comes as a regular from MOT testing – the vehicles that are failing MOT on serious corrosion to chassis are recommended for part-restoration to keep the car roadworthy. Part-restoration addresses the local areas highlighted by MOT failure or a designated area(s) of the vehicle to bring the car back to original specification from bad corrosion etc; these areas are usually the sills on 944s, the 911 b-posts and kidney bowls, the 911 exhaust/heat exchangers. Modified Porsche restoration includes up-rated modification for performance gains or cosmetic modification either for a retro look (911 back date to early 1970s look) or body kit/aero enhancement packages.
Some cars have been taken off the road for a number of years for whatever reason and require work to pass the MOT and regular use. Braunton Engineering are passionate about these cases and have assisted owners on some noteworthy occasions breathing life back into some special cars that has sat still for many years.
A few Porsche restoration examples are: Porsche 911 club sport (in guards red) that had been stored for 10 years, a 964 c2 that had been stored and subsequently been rat infested, a 911 E abandoned to the elements, a 911 SC targa unused after mot failure, a 911 3.2 cabriolet mot failure on corrosion to chassis/kidney bowls etc.
